Study Group Magazine!
I am honoured to be included in the second issue of Study Group Magazine! I did a three-pager about the Beastlord. The actual issue will be printed in two-colours, so I'm pretty excited to see the final product. I am humbled that I was asked to participate, as the first issue carried such a wealth of talent!
I think this is slated to debut at this year's inaugural Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE), where I will be exhibiting with Koyama Press.
Thanks a ton to Zack Soto.
Horrible #1

Horrible #1 is a new comic by Patrick Kyle, Michael Deforge, Zach Worton and myself. It will be debuting at TCAF this year. It's a pretty great book. Here's the second page from my story:
Read more about the book here.
Wowee Zonk #4
Here's the full wrap-around cover I did for Wowee Zonk 4, published by Koyama Press. I am very excited for you to get your hands on a copy! Here's a little info on the new book:
Created and edited by Toronto-based artists Patrick Kyle, Ginette Lapalme and Chris Kuzma, Wowee Zonk has been a champion of unconventional comics work and Canadian content from its inception as a hand-printed zine in 2007. Since that time, Wowee Zonk has grown exponentially; spanning three issues, it has published the work of eleven up-and-coming Toronto artists. The third issue was published by Koyama Press in 2010 and was nominated for the Pigskin Peters Award (which recognizes non-traditional and avant-garde comics) at the 2011 Doug Wright Awards.
Wowee Zonk 4 is the largest and most ambitious issue to date, featuring a number of Canadian and international contributors, each with their own unique approach to storytelling and image making. This issue will include new works by Andrei Georgescu, Adam Buttrick, Steph Davidson, Alex Schubert, Mark Connery, Ryan Dodgson, Donald Dixon, Benjamin Hettinga, and Marc Bell, as well as contributions from the editors Patrick Kyle, Ginette Lapalme and Chris Kuzma.
Wowee Zonk 4 explores the possibilities of an entirely unique medium and continues the tradition of turning cartooning on its head. That's a panel from my story. Your first chance to pick up a copy will be at this year's Toronto Comic Arts Festival, where we will be debuting the book. Ginette Lapalme, Patrick Kyle and myself will once again be curating the small press space at the the show, so do your best to stop by. Our tables will be overflowing with delectable items for your perusal.
See you there.

The Deep Dark Woods!

I recently completed a few jobs for my good friends, The Deep Dark Woods. They are currently on tour promoting the release of their newest album "The Place I Left Behind" through Six Shooter Records, of which I did all the artwork for. I've done album covers for them in the past, but this is by far my favourite.
They also had me design a Tshirt and a tour poster.
If you haven't heard these guys, I strongly recommend that you pick up an album. They're on their way up.
Thanks to Chris, Luke, Ryan, Burke and Geoff.

Creative Type III

I did this piece for the Creative Type III show, which just recently came down. This is the second year I've submitted a piece and I enjoyed it immensely.
I hardly ever use type in my work, and I know next-to-nothing about traditional typographic methods, but something about these projects was so appealing. Just getting out my ruler and being PRECISE was a pleasure. I guess it's because I'm trying something different, something that challenges me. That's important.
Thanks a ton to Carla Poirier, Jaque Lane and Blair Johnsarude. They let me eek through the deadline and submit something at the last minute.
The show would not go on without them!

Le Gallery
Myself, Patrick Kyle and Ginette Lapalme currently have a show up at Toronto's Le Gallery. The show gathers seleceted work we've created over the past two years. It's such an honour to be exhibiting in a gallery that shows so many fantastic artists! Thanks so much to gallery owner Wil Kucey for opportunity.

Game Over Show 4 - Giant Robot San Francisco

Three pieces I just finished for the Game Over 4 show at Giant Robot in San Francisco! I'm super excited to be a part of this!
It's running from March 4 - March 30, and the lineup of artists is amazing. The group show pays homage to the continuous evolution of videogames and their massive influence on popular culture. See more here: www.gr-sf.com
Wish I could make it down there, but alas, I'm stuck up here in Toronto for the winter.
